Over the past four years Biketopia has developed from a mostly empty space with bare walls to the packed in repair-it-yourself palace you see today!
We've developed our hours and shop offerings and have earned a growing following, but have been restricted to our small floor space and tiny backroom.
That ends now! In an effort to make the workshop space more usable and expand the number of used bicycles we have to offer, we've opened up a new location in North Berkeley, just off the bicycle boulevards of Virginia and Milvia, dedicated to offering bikes, offering repairs (to those who can't make it to the Workshop and do it themselves) and spreading the word about Biketopia to the North Berkeley neighborhood.
As we are still run by volunteers, our current open hours are:
Saturdays and Sundays from 12--5 pm, plus appointments available during the rest of the week in advance by e--mail
If you want to give your bike a tune-up yourself, Biketopia Community Workshop at 1752 Alcatraz is still the place. But if you are looking to buy a bike, need some lights and tires, or would like us to take care of your tune-up for you, come by the new spot.
